HOVAB Presents Affiliated Event: “The Gold Hill Art Project,” Laurie Britton Newell

October 6, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Gold Hill

1750 13th Street, Boulder, CO. 80302

Talk by Laurie Britton Newell, “The Gold Hill Project.”

“The Gold Hill Project” is a series of site-specific contemporary art installations situated in cabins and gardens in the historic mining town of Gold Hill. Three emerging Colorado artists, Molly Berger, John De Feo and Eric Stewart, have been commissioned to create new artworks that respond to Gold Hill’s rich history and cultural legacy. The commissions explore ideas about mining, migrant communities, tourism, and the ways in which the landscape has been altered in the last 150 years. Collectively, these installations formed a walking art tour, offering a different visual journey for visitors to Gold Hill. The project is curated by Laurie Britton Newell for Black Cube – A Nomadic Art Museum (blackcubeart.org)

Thursday, October 6, 6:30 PM: A HOVAB Presents Affiliated Event. Free to BMoCA members; $8 non-members.
